Mission
Our mission
Our mission statement
Health and Education Innovation Institute is dedicated to effective, research-driven technology enhanced health and education programs that support underserved populations and the professionals and educators who guide them.
Grounded in evidence and driven by equity, we support the implementation, scale-up, and evaluation of interventions that create lasting, measurable impact.
Guided by Science. Motivated by equity.
Our commitments
What that means in practice
Three commitments sit underneath every program and every partnership.
Grounded in evidence
Programs are built on rigorous research and proven methodologies, and we keep measuring after launch – not just before it.
Driven by equity
We work where the need is greatest, supporting underserved populations and reducing the disparities that keep good programs out of reach.
Built for lasting impact
Implementation, scale-up, and evaluation are treated as one job, so that change holds once the pilot is over.
Our focus
Who we serve
Underserved populations
People who are most often left out when health and education programs are designed, funded, and delivered – and who stand to gain the most when they are not.
The professionals and educators who guide them
Teachers, clinicians, facilitators, and family members who need practical, usable tools rather than another binder on the shelf.
How HEI Began
More About HEI Institute
HEI Institute was founded in 2025 when two founders from a federal grant funded for profit organization realized that we, and so many others at universities and non-profit agencies, were creating engaging and effective digitally delivered health and education interventions and programs, but often when the grant was over these programs languished. We wanted to ensure that these programs are implemented and scaled with the populations most in need. So we came up with a plan to focus on 1) helping creating digital interventions by sharing our experience and incredible technology development staff with those that need it; 2) identifying programs that are effective and helping to implement and scale those interventions across communities that need them; and 3) helping evaluate digitally delivered or hybrid interventions and programs, either for the first time, to establish evidence of effectiveness, or as part of broader implementation and scale-up. And from that desire to see these programs ultimately reach the populations that most need them, Health and Education Innovation Institute was born.
Guided by Science. Motivated by equity.
