What we run

Research-driven programs, built to be used

HEI programs turn evidence into something people can actually practice. Each one is grounded in research, delivered through technology that meets learners where they are, and designed so that skills build a little at a time.

Current program

SkillFlix® for Autistic Young Adults

This innovative program is designed to support autistic young adults in developing relationship-focused skills at their own pace. The streaming video library of 150+ short Microskills® videos supports skill building at different experience levels and explores numerous types of relationships such as friends, romantic partners, roommates, work colleagues, classmates, and more.

This program uses a proprietary video training platform that teaches and reinforces effective skills through the use of short Microskills® modeling videos. Microskills® combine to create larger skills. Through evidence-based approaches and engaging digital content, SkillFlix® has been shown to empower autistic young adults to build confidence and independence. This program is a digital health silver award winner.

Current program

Conversation Skill Building for Parents of Autistic Teens and Young Adults

This unique program is designed to improve the skills of parents to discuss sexuality and healthy relationships with their autistic teen/young adult children. With more than 200 Microskills® videos for parents of youth on the spectrum, this program has been shown to improve parents’ skills, knowledge, and confidence when talking about sexual health and healthy relationships with their teens/young adults. Parents learn how to assess their child’s readiness for discussions, respond to challenging questions, and many more communication skills.
